Transcript:

We’re just coming out of a meeting with a client and the idea of successful partnerships, successful ventures, successful collaborations came up and it came up because we were discussing some next steps for this particular client in their financial wealth building plan. We’re thinking about what some of the joint operations that they were moving forward with, whether their business, but also on their personal side and

And the idea of a guide and a partnership of like a coach slash guide came up. And we talked about that the most successful or some of the most successful or some of the most.

some of the most successful businesses, some of the most successful operations, some of the most successful financial people alive had a partnership or a guide or a coach alongside them. People don’t do this alone. Like you know the saying about no man or person is an island? We are at best when we are with other people and we are at best when we’re sharing

resources with other people in collaboration. There is not too many instances where you’re hearing a huge success story and that person was completely solo. This exists, this idea of partnership and guide and say, confidant exists everywhere. If you think about it, even in literary.

literary terms. It’s like Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces, which is about basically saying like every story, every adventure story you know of, the hero is the main, you know, component of the story, but the hero has a guide and follows a pathway, like a proven pathway. You think about it like the karate kid, like back in the 1980s, like the hero had followed a proven pathway.

developed by a guide, Mr. Miyagi. The Matrix, Neo follows a proven pathway by a guide, Neo. know, like Harry Potter, even Harry Potter, who has actually multiple guides through multiple books, is that Harry, you know, has to go through the, battle the forces of evil. He’s got different guides like Hagrid, he’s got Dumbledore, like different stages of this kid’s career life has different guides that show him the proven

pathway, know, like Star Wars. You know if you’ve listened to many episodes before that I’m a huge Star Wars fan. Like obviously Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, no brainer, right? Like everyone has the guide, even in businesses. Like Steve Jobs, could say like that Apple would not be a success without the combination of Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs. Complete true story. But the other part is like would you say,

both of those were guides for each other and following a proven pathway, maybe not. But Steve Jobs also had Mike McCurla, who was a early investor, advisor for Apple, basically helped them with like the why marketing campaigns and the why marketing and our customer first philosophy. Like these were proven pathways. Howard Schultz, Starbucks had a proven pathway and a guide by the name of Dr. Orrin Smith.

And he was a mastermind CEO, CEO coach, know, professional in operations, which is this partly to do the success for Starbucks. know, Elon Musk has had a guide, early space X, you know, a person who gave him like the pathway of like, this is where to go was Jim Cantrell. So it’s like, there every, every successful story.

has this arrangement. when we were talking about this with this particular client, we were talking about those next steps because we have doubts. We have reservations about joining in partnerships. And when you know that we can go farther together, you can go fast alone, right? But you can go farther together. And when you know that principle, when you know that that is there, we have so many more options to move forward.

If you think about our own story here on the Canadian wealth secrets, Kyle, Matt were first partners in terms of their real estate investing and joint partnering. could go, they went farther together than they were going to go alone and they knew it. They partnered up. When I stepped into partner with them, we as a team of three went farther together because of the skills, the operations, the,

the different skill sets that each of us brought to that partnership. We could go farther together in our real estate portfolio, in our business portfolios. It’s the joint effort that actually makes us go so much farther.

this particular client was thinking about their next steps with this particular partnership as well, but we also help them with the pathway, right? Like this is the other component, as your guide, your partner is there, but we all follow and stand on, and we all stand on shoulders of giants. We all follow pathways, and then we make little modifications to those pathways. Like these are like little,

These are like little mutations that happen along the way that take you on your own pathway. So every pathway feels unique. Like your financial journey will feel unique to you, but you are standing on the shoulders of others, folks that have come before you. You following proven pathways. So sometimes when we are looking ahead, when we are making financial plans, when we’re designing, you know, when we think of stage one of thinking about what is the vision for where we’re trying to go? What problems are we trying to account for? Where, where does this pathway take us?

We have to kind of make sure that we say, which pathway do we want to follow? And what is that existing pathway? we find a pathway? that coach, guidance person, the person who has the experience show us this pathway? And this client was looking for this type of thing, is that they were looking to hit these goals. And we said, there is this pathway down here that uses a corporate wealth.

reservoir, we’ve talked about that, which is stage two of our financial plan or a healthy financial plan. They were using their corporate wealth reservoir in the form of a whole life insurance policy. So we’re using the cash value for that to take some investments or take the cash value so that we could or not take the cash value, but leverage the cash value so that we could make some investments like these are. This was this pathway that we’ve helped many, many other business owners just like them follow so that they could

purchase buildings, make investments, purchase real estate properties, go into ventures with other business folks. These are proven pathways that we’re using with our clients that make it easier because you have success when you have these two components. You’ve got your guide and you’re following that pathway. You’re following a proven pathway. So when you’re thinking about your next steps, if you’re thinking about your vision for

your financial plan, which is that stage one, and you’re thinking about all the pieces in play is what pathway do you want to follow? And that’s why it’s so important in stage one to start thinking about this is because you want to select your guide or select those people that are going to be around you to help you take the next step on the pathway. But a lot of us, think, are moving down to some step. And this is the part of what stage one is so important is getting clear on where to go.

but then what pathway to follow. And a lot of times we don’t have either of those. So this short episode here was on top of mind. It was coming out of a client conversation that if we are going to be taking steps forward, we wanna be answering these two components is when we’re trying to craft our vision, our stage one process for a healthy financial plan, where do we wanna go? What is the end result? What are some of those milestones along the way that I’m going to hit? What are some of these goals that we’re going to be

working towards and answering the why question. But along that, who is going to be the key players to help me learn, help me grow, help me follow a proven pathway? So we need, who are the guides? We need to look for guides, we need to be open to guides helping us along the way. In previous episodes, we talked about who’s on our team. Who are the key players that we’re gonna lean on for advice, lean on for guidance, lean on for support?

so that we can get to where we wanna go. Very, very important components of a healthy stage one vision for a financial plan. And then go, what’s the pathway that we can follow? And then we’ll make slight modifications or mutations along the way to get there, to make it unique to us. All successes have these components. We just gotta find ours. And when you’re thinking about it,

You wanna build it in, like think about the process, right? We don’t rise to our successes, we always fall to our processes and to the lower components of our processes. So we wanna make sure that we’re continually striving for who’s on our team, what’s the pathway going to look like? Do we have one? Can we use one that’s already there? So this short episode was really top of mind and I wanted to share it out to you, but I’m curious if you’re getting our emails.

If you’re not getting our emails, head on over to canadienwellsecrets.com, join the email list or the newsletter, and then hit reply on those emails. Let us know, you know, what’s your, like what are some of the key components you envision for success? Where’s some of the pathways that you felt you followed? Who are some of the coaches, the confidants, the advisors that you’ve leaned on to go down your pathway? Because if you look back, they’re there, and you did follow a pathway.

recognizing that that’s part of the work we’re doing, part of the work that has to be done, is a really important component of moving forward.
